Helen bolsters wills and probate division at MWR Solicitors

Helen Scott-Parker has joined the wills and probate division of Preston-based law firm MWR Solicitors.

Helen joins MWR after five years with South Lakeland-based legal practice Temple Heelis, where she worked in the firm’s Kendal, Windermere and Ambleside offices.

Helen, who lives in Poulton-le-Fylde with her husband Steven and their two children, qualified as a solicitor in 2003 after completing her law studies at Manchester Metropolitan University and UCLan.

A relative latecomer to the legal profession, Helen previously worked as a hotel manager in the Lake District for four years after originally gaining a degree in Hotel and Catering Management from the University of Portsmouth.

Helen also spent three years advising small businesses on a self-employed basis, and was also a company secretary for several businesses in the South Lakes area.

Helen, who is originally from Stockport, said: “Preston has always had a thriving legal district and I’m thoroughly enjoying working with MWR.”

Jane Booker, partner at MWR, added: “Helen has gained a great deal of knowledge and experience since qualifying as a solicitor and is a valuable addition to our wills and probate division.”

MWR Solicitors, based in Cannon-Street, Preston, specialises in employment law, personal injury, accidents at work, occupational diseases, wills and probate and conveyancing.
