Local sports heroes honoured at MWR Lancashire Sports Awards ceremony

Sporting champions and volunteers from across the county were recognised for their achievements at The MWR Lancashire Sports Awards 2011 on Friday November 25.

The ceremony, which opened with performances from the ‘Blaze’ youth-led programme, was staged at The Hilton Hotel, Blackpool and hosted by Sky Sports news presenter and rugby league reporter, Angela Powers.

Jane Booker, partner at MWR, commented: “The awards are a fantastic way to celebrate the achievements of the county’s most talented sports stars, volunteers and coaches.
