Firm news: MWR Solicitors get fit for charity

Over 40 Preston fitness enthusiasts joined MWR on Sunday, October 3 for its second annual fitness event at Fulwood Leisure Centre to raise money for Rosemere Cancer Foundation.

The participants tested their stamina by consecutively completing a range of endurance activities. The event organisers are aiming to raise £1,000 for the charity which supports cancer care throughout Lancashire and South Cumbria.

The gruelling event, organised by MWR partner, Altaf Patel, consisted of finishing two of the three set activities: 40 minutes spinning (indoor cycling); 40 minutes body attack; 40 minutes circuit training, followed by either a 5km run or a 20 length swim.

Volunteers and instructors from the centre along with Sharon Rigby, Vicki Leslie and Sarah Calvert of MWR took part.

Altaf Patel said: “We host the annual fitness event with the aim for individuals and volunteers to come together to raise money for this fantastic charity and test their fitness at the same time. We were impressed by the turnout, especially for a Sunday morning! I’d like to thank everyone for their support.”

In addition, Nick Godden and his partner Caroline Clay won the ‘most determined participants’ trophy and everyone who took part received gift bags from the firm.
