MWR’s Ferrari Faqiri congratulated by Prime Minister for sporting accolades
One of MWR’s sporting heroes visited Downing Street recently to be congratulated for his sporting achievements within the Muslim community by Prime Minister, David Cameron.
Ferrari Faqiri, who started training in Taekwondo at the age of five and won his most recent title at the World Martial Arts Championships in Las Vegas this year, was one of a small number of athletes invited to Downing Street to be recognised for commitment to sport.
Ferrari is now working towards a place at the Olympics in London 2012 and the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
As part of our community investment programme MWR is committed in supporting local sporting heroes and financially help a number of local stars. You can find out more about them in ‘who we sponsor’ section of the website.
