Net gain as Harris are crowned Champions

MWR recently sponsored the Preston District Netball High Five tournament which took place at Fulwood Leisure Centre. The tournament saw record numbers of children from 15 local primary schools compete in three trophy competitions.

The tournament was exciting and competitive to the end.  First place in the Plate competition went to Queens Drive with St Marys and St Andrews winning the small schools category. They will go on to represent Preston in same category at the Lancashire Youth Games County Finals. In the Cup competition, third place went to Longsands, with runners-up St Maria Goretti fighting hard to the end but it was Harris Primary School who came out on top. Champions Harris, will also go through to represent Preston at the high-five County Finals held in Blackpool on May 20.

Dean Brandwood, Preston Sports Development competition manager said: “It was fantastic to see so many schools taking part from across Preston and the support from MWR Solicitors for schools competitions has been invaluable.”

Jane Booker, partner at MWR Solicitors said: “The Netball High Five Tournament is one of many events we sponsor during the year involving children in sport. It’s a great way for them to improve their health, develop life skills and have fun and we are committed to supporting such events.”
