A Bamber Bridge youngster will be one of the best dressed junior cricketers next season after scoring a top prize.

Stewart Rooney, 13, has won £150 worth of cricket vouchers in the annual online competition, Clickit!, run by Preston law firm, MWR Solicitors, sponsors of the Palace Shield junior cricket competition.

The competition was open to all cricketers of the junior Palace Shield competition and required entrants to visit MWR’s website - www.mwrlaw.com - and answer a simple cricket question.

Peter Meloy, managing partner at MWR, said: “This is the second year we have run the competition and once again it was very successful.

“MWR Solicitors is committed to the development of junior cricket in the region and we will be running the competition again next year. Well done Stewart.”

Stewart, who plays for Gregson Lane Cricket Club and is a pupil at Lostock Hall High School, collected his prize at the recent Palace Shield annual awards ceremony held at Blackpool Pleasure Beach.

He cashed in his vouchers for two pairs of wicket keeping pads, batting pads, two helmets and four pairs of batting gloves.
