A GROUP of fitness enthusiasts have helped MWR Solicitors raise money for the Rosemere Cancer Foundation by taking part in the firm’s 1st Annual Fitness Day.

The event, which featured a grueling 40-minute spinning class, followed by a 40-minute circuit training session and topped off with a five kilometer outdoor run, was organised by MWR partner Altaf Patel in conjunction with Fulwood Leisure Centre, Preston.

Through their Sunday morning exploits, participants raised £1,150 for Rosemere Cancer Foundation, which supports cancer care throughout Lancashire and South Cumbria.

Altaf, who is also spinning instructor at Fulwood Leisure Centre, said: “This was a fantastic opportunity for our gym members to support an excellent local charity and also test their fitness at the same time. There was tremendous team spirit at the event and though everyone was competing individually, everyone was willing each other on. We were very impressed by the turnout, especially for a Sunday morning!”

Rosemere Cancer Foundation provides additional facilities and equipment for patients being treated at the charity’s cancer centre in Preston and local cancer units throughout Lancashire and South Cumbria. Rosemere also funds vital local research, helping to provide the very best care possible for patients throughout the region.
